Washington County Department of Land Use & Transportation (LUT) is hiring an Inspection Supervisor. As our new Inspection Supervisor, you will work within our Engineering and Construction Services Division, and will oversee our top-notch team of Inspection Technicians. Together, you and the Technicians will inspect roads, bridges, drainage and utility projects on Washington County roads. You will plan, implement and oversee a comprehensive inspection program in accordance with state and county laws governing subdivision roadway construction, bonding, establishment and construction surveys.

As the Inspection Supervisor, you’ll lead a committed team of professional inspection technicians who read and interpret construction plans, maps and specifications. You’ll interact with a variety of people – engineers, planners, elected officials, colleagues from other jurisdictions, contractors, members of the public and more. You’ll interpret and apply constructions contracts and agreements, assist in budget preparation and more. LUT’s Inspection Supervisor will be able to:
Review construction plans for conformance with state and county laws
Direct staff to continuously improve quality, productivity and effectiveness
Investigate complaints and recommend corrective action as necessary
Prepare cost estimates for budget recommendations
Develop and schedule work on assigned project development
Provide oversight of quality assurance and quality control
Answer questions and provide information to the public
Establish and maintain cooperative working relationships
LUT’s Inspection Supervisor will have:
An Associate’s degree in civil engineering and two (2) years of experience in construction inspection and overseeing inspection personnel OR
Four (4) years of experience in construction inspection that included overseeing inspection personnel
A valid Oregon driver’s license and acceptable driving record
